Frequently Asked Questions

  • Home Health Therapy

    • Requires you to be considered homebound, meaning it is difficult for you to leave your home.

    • Typically follows a hospitalization, surgery, illness, or significant decline in function.

    • Services are provided for a limited period of time and must meet specific insurance and physician-order requirements.

    • Visit frequency and treatment duration are often determined by insurance guidelines.

    Concierge Outpatient Therapy

    • Brings outpatient therapy services directly to your home or community, eliminating the need to travel to a clinic.

    • You do not need to be homebound to qualify.

    • Ideal for individuals who want personalized, one-on-one therapy in a familiar environment.

    • Treatment plans are based on your goals and needs rather than clinic schedules or insurance limitations.

    • Sessions can focus on improving strength, mobility, balance, independence, home safety, cognition, fall prevention, and recovery from injury or surgery.

At Bloom In-Home Therapy and Wellness, we provide outpatient occupational therapy in the comfort of your home, allowing you to receive individualized care where you live and perform your daily activities. This approach helps make therapy more meaningful, practical, and convenient.

  • Bloom In-Home Therapy and Wellness currently accepts Traditional Medicare and Maryland Medicaid.

  • If you have a Medicare Advantage plan or private insurance, we may still be able to work with you through our self-pay option and provide a superbill for potential reimbursement from your insurance company.

    What Is a Superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company may need to process an out-of-network reimbursement claim. It typically includes:

    • Provider information and credentials

    • Date of service

    • Diagnosis codes

    • Procedure (billing) codes

    • Amount paid for services

After paying for your therapy session, you can submit the superbill directly to your insurance company. Depending on your specific plan and out-of-network benefits, your insurer may reimburse you for a portion of the cost. Because coverage varies by plan, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network occupational therapy benefits before beginning services.

Our team is happy to provide the documentation needed and answer questions about the superbill process. Please note that reimbursement is determined by your insurance company and cannot be guaranteed.

    Private Pay Benefits

Many clients choose private pay because it offers greater flexibility and personalized care. Private-pay services allow you to receive therapy without many of the restrictions imposed by insurance companies, enabling treatment plans that are tailored to your unique goals, schedule, and needs. This can be especially beneficial for wellness services, prevention-focused care, or individuals seeking therapy beyond what their insurance may cover.

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

  • Yes. One of the unique benefits of mobile outpatient therapy is the ability to provide treatment in the environments where you live, shop, exercise, and socialize. When clinically appropriate, therapy sessions can take place in community settings such as grocery stores, fitness centers, walking trails, senior centers, or other locations relevant to your goals.

Community-based therapy allows us to address real-world challenges such as:

    • Safe community mobility

    • Navigating public spaces

    • Grocery shopping and meal planning

    • Fitness and wellness routines

    • Fall prevention in community environments

    • Energy conservation and endurance

    • Cognitive strategies for managing daily tasks

By practicing skills in the environments where they are actually used, clients often experience greater confidence, independence, and carryover into everyday life.

    Pediatric occupational therapy may address:

Services are provided in the child's natural environment—whether at home or in the community—allowing therapy to be integrated into daily routines and meaningful activities.

Although adults remain our primary focus, we welcome families seeking personalized, one-on-one occupational therapy services for their children. If you're unsure whether your child would benefit from occupational therapy, we'd be happy to discuss your concerns during a complimentary consultation.
